Private hatha yoga classes are tailored to your individual goals and needs. Options including therapeutic yoga, functional yoga for mobility, adaptability and stability, or a class designed to facilitate relaxation, meditation and mindfulness.

YOGA THERAPY

An evidence-based intervention for complex trauma and PTSD.

 

In this 5-week course, there are opportunities to restore your connection to your body and recover from the impact of trauma. Attune to your internal experience and move in a mindful way. Make embodied choices to experience agency and empowerment. Improve interoceptive awareness, distress tolerance and emotional regulation in a safe and supportive environment. Learn strategies and a framework for understanding your experience.

Other ways yoga helps mental health:

  • ​strengthens autonomic nervous system function to support management of stress

  • breathing practices that support emotional regulation and stability

  • mindfulness practices that improve present moment and interoceptive awareness

  • progressive muscle relaxation and reduction in tension

  • improvement in sleep

  • cultivates acceptance & self-compassion

  • psychological flexibility

  • collective effervescence (awe)

  • Maximum of 10 participants

  • Participants do not talk about their mental health histories or experience in the group setting

  • Open to all levels of experience 

  • No hands-on adjustments
